The 2026 Mariachi Festival will take place Aug. 28-30, 2026, at Wortham Theater in downtown Houston, bringing together music lovers and families for a three-day celebration of mariachi music and Hispanic culture. One of the festival’s most anticipated highlights will feature the winners of the 2026 National Youth Vocal Competition, showcasing young vocalists who represent the next generation of mariachi performers.
“We were pleased to welcome competitors from across the country to this year’s competition,” said Macaria Mendez, Mariachi Festival Board Chair.
“These rising stars have embraced the traditions of mariachi, helping ensure that our beautiful culture and music continue to inspire future generations.”
“Each of these young artists brings something special to the stage,” said Carlos Luna, one of the competition judges.
“Some demonstrate remarkable natural talent, while others stand out for their passion, discipline, and deep commitment to mariachi music.
What impressed us most was their dedication to the craft and their ability to move audiences through heartfelt performances.
These four young mariachis have bright futures ahead, and we are proud to support them as they continue their journey.”
“We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, whose generous support makes our events possible,” said Belinda Mendez Luna, Mariachi Festival Board Member.
“Their continued commitment has helped us create meaningful and successful events year after year, allowing us to celebrate mariachi music and share our culture with the community.”
